Delilah Fine Foods hosted a spectacular tasting event celebrating the food and wine of Piemonte, Italy. The intimate evening welcomed 45 guests who were treated to an exquisite pairing of authentic Piedmontese cuisine and carefully selected regional wines.
The night began with the Metodo Classico Brut Rosé from Vallana. This sparkling wine set the tone with fresh fruit and a delicate mousse, perfectly complemented by the roasted cherry tomato and smoked oil bagna cauda pastry. The red fruit aromas and vibrant acidity paired wonderfully with the savoury starter.
Moving into the whites, the Gavi di Gavi by Sarotto offered a complex, crisp accompaniment to the poached white fish with creamy polenta and salsa verde crouton, while the Langhe Bianco Dragon from Baudana stole the show with its floral notes and mineral freshness, ideal with both the fish and the Robiola cheese, truffle honey, and radicchio pastry.
For the reds, the Dolcetto from Sarotto provided a fruity, spice-driven match for the cheese and meat board and the sage, butter, and Parmigiano beef ravioli. Its dry aftertaste and pronounced spiciness complemented the richness of the dishes.
The robust Ndre from Castello di Montegrosso followed, with its smoky fruit, dark berries, and light tannins, enhancing the flavors of the roasted veal with Barolo jus, a dish that truly captured the essence of Piemonte.
To close the evening, we enjoyed the delicate Moscato from Dezzani, bursting with honey and sage aromas, alongside a decadent hazelnut cake with honey whipped cream and apple compote.
Inspired by Chef Andrea’s deep connection to Piemonte, the event was a delightful journey through the region’s flavours, expertly curated to showcase the harmony between its food and wine. A special thank you to all who attended and made the evening unforgettable!
