Caveat Emptor
Vintage Ports are old and delicate and need to be handled with great care.
They will form a large amount of sediment over time, so must be decanted carefully before drinking.
Corks soften or become brittle with time, so it can be very difficult to extract the cork without it breaking or crumbling.
If the cork does break or crumble when opening, the quality of the wine is unaffected. The filter in a decanting funnel will catch the pieces of cork; or the wine can be poured through a fine-mesh sieve or muslin cloth to remove any debris.
There may be a degree of ullage. We will only sell items with a level at the shoulder of the bottle or higher.
We cannot offer refund or replacement for old vintage wines.
