Christmas in a Box

Type: Wine

A selection of wines to take you through Christmas Day: celebratory fizz; a crisp 'starter' white; a white & red just made for turkey or goose; a bold red; a bottle of tip-top port for the cheese board!

Classic Cuvee, Brut NV, Three Choirs Estate

Chardonnay & Seyval Blanc, made the same way as Champagne; deliciously crisp and fresh with real complexity, this has won multiple awards including SWA Gold in 2020. Perfect aperitif, or pairing for smoked salmon.

Sauvignon de Touraine 2018, Domaine des Echardieres

Spot on Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc, which could easily pass off as being from a more revered appellation. Bold flinty nose and bright gooseberry and citric fruit palate; really zesty, refreshing and satisfying.

Macon Prisse 2017, Le Clos, Domaine Pacquet

That rare thing, good white Burgundy at a sensible price! The nose is expressive of acacia flowers and sweet fruits. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity, citrus fruit and enough weight to accompany roast poultry.

Pinot Noir 2018, Les Valmoissines, Louis Latour

From the Var region, this is what Burgundy should be bu often isn't!i - a fruity wine, it offers a soft and silky palate with soft tannins and a savoury edge. Perfect match for Turkey or Goose, and the trimmings.

Chateau Mahon Laville 2016

80/20 Merlot/Cabernet, a classic Bordeaux nose with ripe, supple fruit on the palate and a grip on the finish that reminds you that you are drinking a claret. Great with hard cheese or roast beef.

Quinta de la Rosa 2014 LBV Port (50cl)

Very fresh, young and vibrant fruit. A beautiful port, full of round, soft flavours but with an optimal structure giving this LBV tension and elegance. Essential for the cheese board, but also at home with most chocolate or fruit desserts.
