A selection of wines to take you through Christmas Day: celebratory fizz; a crisp 'starter' white; a white & red just made for turkey or goose; a bold red; a bottle of tip-top port for the cheese board!
Classic Cuvee, Brut NV, Three Choirs Estate
Chardonnay & Seyval Blanc, made the same way as Champagne; deliciously crisp and fresh with real complexity, this has won multiple awards including SWA Gold in 2020. Perfect aperitif, or pairing for smoked salmon.
Peth Wetz Riesling Trocken, Rhein
Vibrant citrus on the nose, with fresh grapefuit and lemon characteristics. The palate is dry and well-rounded, with juicy ripe pear, apricot and melon and fresh acidity.
Falanghina has tremendous potential: aromatic with peach and apricot notes on a crisp, refreshing palate. Very classy.
Pinot Noir Les Cotilles, Domaine Roux
Five generations of expertise from Burgundy are behind this wine. Lively and structured, with a well-rounded and supple backbone. Tannins and fruit go hand in hand and match the power of the secondary aromas. This wine has volume and flesh. Perfect match for Turkey or Goose, and the trimmings.
Chateau Brande Bergere, Bordeaux
Punches way above its price, packed full of fruit and charm, with excellent balance and impressive concentration. Skilfully combines richness on entry and freshness on exit. Sweet Merlot dominates but there is structure too.
Quinta De La Rosa 2014 LBV Port (50cl)
Very fresh, young and vibrant fruit. A beautiful port, full of round, soft flavours but with an optimal structure giving this LBV tension and elegance. Essential for the cheese board, but also at home with most chocolate or fruit desserts.
