Sancerre beating, fresh and exotic Sauvignon from the Loire. White fruits nose, round and long mouth with quince and apricot notes. Delicious, intense and complex.
Louro do Bolo 2017, Godello, Valdeorras, Rafel Palacios
A true Burgundy-beater, this is one of the benchmark wines against which all Spanish whites are judged. Godello, a grape native to North West Spain, from the Valdeorras region, medium-bodied and very stylish with flavours of white currants, fresh citrus, orange blossom and lots of stony minerality. Superb
Rioja Reserva 2017, Izadi
A cracking modern Rioja, intense aromas of red fruits, liquorice and spices combined with delicate hints of cedar and smoky notes. The full bodied palate is rich and concentrated with a long, fruit-forward finish.
Chateau Noaillac 2016, Cru Bourgeois Medoc
Chateau Noaillac produces succulent, lovely early drinking claret. Peppery red fruit nose tinged with a hint of liquorice followed by faintly toasted cedar, earth and spice. The palate is still on the lighter side with generous ripe blackcurrant and mulberry flavours over toasty cedar, earth and spice nuances.
Quinta de la Rosa 2014 LBV Port (50cl)
Very fresh, young and vibrant fruit. A beautiful port, full of round, soft flavours but with an optimal structure giving this LBV tension and elegance. Essential for the cheese board, but also at home with most chocolate or fruit desserts.
